For our polar opposites assignment we had to take two photos that, even though the objects are different, they still work together in some way. I decided to use the relationship between a horse and rider. This is a perfect example because their bodies and personalities are different but when the rider is on the horse they work as one body. The picture on the left is a unedited picture of my horse Roman. I like this picture because the light source was coming from behind him instead of in front. And the right picture is of me with horse show ribbons behind me. the show ribbons are a symbol of the outcomes that a horse and rider can do together.
when we were assigned this project, I got very overwhelmed with ideas of things I could shoot and I thought long and hard about it over intersession. But, unfortunately, I could not come up with anything during that time. As I walked around the school today I had a lot of trouble finding things to shoot. But near the end of the period, I found my friend Tiffany Charvet in the music office practicing the piano. I asked her if she would like to be in my project and she said yes. out of the 100 pictures I took of her I found a group of pictures of Tiffany concentrating on the sheet music. I just loved how the lighting from behind Tiffany and the lamp in front of her made the lighting even. I decided to work on how to use the tinting in light room where you can change a picture to be blue or yellow, and green or purple. i have seen this style of editing all over social media and wanted to learn how to use it and not make it look like an 8 year old edited the picture.
